For Jerry Mosher, educating clients, simplifying the mystery and confusion around financial decisions, generating investment success, and adding a touch of humor to the financial journey is rewarding work.
With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jerry was one of the first financial planners in the Bay Area – providing financial planning services even before it was widely known as a profession.
As managing partner of Mosher Financial Advisors LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor, Jerry has demonstrated a consistent ability to protect and grow the hard earned assets of his clients, who include physicians, business owners, retirees, widows and divorcees.
Jerry graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, entered the financial planning business in 1971, and incorporated Mosher & Ellis in 1984. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA®), and was admitted to the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners in the 1980s. He has served as past President as well as in other capacities for the East Bay Chapter of the FPA®. Jerry is a registered representative of American Investors Company.
In 1998, Jerry was named by Medical Economics as one of “the 120 best financial advisors for doctors.” He repeated the bi-annual honor in 2000, 2002, and 2004 when he was recognized as one of “the 150 best…” He has served as a speaker and panelist at various industry programs, has been quoted in several newspaper articles and was featured in a financial planning program aired on PBS. Most recently he served as the monthly financial columnist for MD News, a Bay Area regional publication for medical professionals.
When he’s not in the office, Jerry is an avid sportsman, having participated in football, basketball and rugby at the collegiate level, followed by a short period of professional involvement. He stays in shape by playing tennis and softball in their respective seasons. Fascinated with carousels as a child, Jerry has assembled one of the largest collections of French children’s carousel animals in the United States. He appreciates the aesthetics and self expression of the arts and has a passion for music, a family legacy. Jerry is a season subscriber and contributor to Berkeley Repertory Theater, Smuin Ballet, and Cal Performances, and is a life member of the Freight & Salvage.
